About me
Hello, my name is Jack Sorrell. Here is a little about myself.
As a person, I value well-structured and analytically organised work, with a strong emphasis on simplicity and an efficient less-is-more approach. I value the advantages of open, extensible, minimal design in all aspects of computing.
I value digital independence, self-sufficiency, and reasoned decision-making. These core values are reflected in my work and daily thinking and are evident in everything I do with a computer.
I encourage my creativity while maintaining a healthy relationship with my devices by installing custom firmware and software wherever possible. This opens up learning opportunities that would otherwise never have existed and maximises the capabilities of my devices.
Communicating my knowledge and helping others with computing are two of my favourite skills. I recognise the unhealthy nature of how most people use their devices, and I believe that with a small amount of education, anyone can quickly become competent in using their devices.
My ultimate goal is to do my bit to shift the industry in this direction.
